A team that knows his sound

"Not Okay" keeps 450 with the camp that has shaped his rise. Producer Week.day and Tru Ambassador Entertainment have been tied to his work for years. DancehallMag's earlier interview with the artist described how labels like Ambassador recognized his talent and helped develop his career. That partnership has produced many of his recent records, including the 2026 single "Bounce."

From Clarendon to the world

450's real name is Tristen Escoffery. He was born on April 5, 2000, and the Jamaica Observer reports that he was born in Kingston but moved to Clarendon in his adolescent years. His profile has grown steadily since. In late 2023 the Observer noted that he had finished his first tour of England and reached #1 on Apple Music in 14 Caribbean islands with "Wild n Rich". His "450 Live" shows have also become a big part here of his brand, including a sold-out Toronto date in 2024.

Honesty is the brand

The title "Not Okay" fits a pattern in his catalog. In "Imperfection" he was introspective, reflecting on bad life choices and dark thoughts. This year's "World on Fire" came from a similar place. He told the Jamaica Observer that he wrote it during a rough patch, feeling like the whole world was against him, and hoped listeners going through a dark time could relate.

Riddimz World sums up his approach as a voice that moves between tough street energy and softer, more romantic moods, with honest writing. Admitting that you are not okay is a natural next step for an artist whose best-known songs are built on vulnerability.

Why it matters

Dancehall has long had a reputation for bravado, but a new generation of artists is more open about emotional struggle. "Not Okay" arrives at a time when 450 has had a steady run of releases, including "World on Fire," "Bounce," "No Days Off," "More Pan More," "Sprinkler" and "Good Ole." Few of his peers have kept up that pace.

Whether "Not Okay" becomes another chart-topper is up to listeners and streaming numbers. It is clear that 450 has built a following that relates to his honesty.
